College of Engineering (http://www.engr.washington.edu/score/scholarship.html) Two undergraduate scholarships, one graduate fellowship Materials available: early January Deadline: March/April Criteria: Undergrads chosen based on performance in TC classes and overall GPA; graduate fellowship used for recruitment Society for Technical Communication (STC) (http://www.stc.org) Four $1000 scholarships (two for undergrads, two for grads) Materials available: Late October Deadline: Mid February Criteria: academic record, experience with technical communication and potential for contributing to the profession of technical communication. Sakson Diversity Scholarship (http://www.uwtc.washington.edu/diversity/diversityscholarship.php) The recipient of the Sakson Diversity Scholarship will receive $2,500/year for up to 2 years. Deadline: July 1st Criteria: Click here. Souther & White Scholarship (Puget Sound Chapter of STC: (http://www.stc-psc.org/) For students enrolled in Puget Sound area schools, this is a $1,500 award. Deadline: Late January Criteria: demonstrates strong language and/or illustration skills, works independently, good interviewing skills, and commitment to the field of technical communication. SIGDOC Undergraduate Scholarship (1999) ( http://www.acm.org/sigdoc/) Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group for DOCumentation Materials available: early December Deadline: mid February One scholarship of $500 each will be granted toward school tuition and expenses UW Alumni Board One year full tuition for undergraduate (WA state resident) given on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievements, leadership, community service and strong work ethic.
